Scope and Contents From the Series: From the earliest 1968 draft of a College Senate to Senate Handbooks in the 1990's, this series documents changes in the goals and governance of the Senate. The earliest constituion differs markedly from the current version. Membership was limited to seven top level managers and faculty were represented by rank, 20% of full professors, 10% assoicate and 5% assistant. Only faculty with three years of service could vote. Scope and Contents From the Series: Academic Council materials date from 1967 to 1991 with the bulk of them representing 1967-1986. Contained therein are minutes, agendas and memos. The business of the Academic Council was approval and review or courses and programs. Chairing the committee was Dr. McNerney, president of the college, for the early years. During the later years, Provost McKinnley acts as chair of the committee.

This is due in part because not all committees keep notes that are turned into the senate body nor do all committees give written reports.
