From the Series: This series contains information regarding the data collected for selected expenditure and revenue for Pennsylvania Public Schools from 1983-1993. These reports were prepared by the Pennsylvania Department of Education. The information was divided into two separate reports- Selected Expenditure Data for PA Public Schools and Selected Revenue Data and Equalized Mills for PA Public Schools. The series also includes a report of the Selected Education Statistics for PA (1990-91). The Selected Expenditure Data for PA Public Schools’ reports included the years of 1983-84, 1985-86, 1986-87, 1987-88, 1992-1993. The contents discussed in these reports were to provide information about general fund expenditures for public schools in Pennsylvania. Within each report, there were tables that presented a ten-year historical statewide summary of expenditures made by all school districts, area vocational-technical schools (AVTS), and special schools in the major expenditure categories; total expenditures for the major expenditure categories for each school district, AVTS, and special school, as well as an average daily membership and a weighted average daily membership total for each school district. Other tables included: instruction expenditures, support service expenditures, major expenditures and the statewide summary of general fund expenditures. The Selected Revenue Data and Equalized Mills for PA Public Schools’ reports included the years 1984-85, 1985-86, 1986-87, 1987-88. The contense discussed in these reports were to provide information about the general fund revenues and tax collection data for public schools in Pennsylvania. Within each report, there were tables that presented a ten-year historical statewide summary of the total dollar amounts of general fund revenues, ten-year trend table showing the specific components of the local tax category and detailed tax information for each district in the state. Finally, the Selected Education Statistics for PA to 1991 is located in the series. The report was named Projections. This report was a summary of selected statistics highlighting trends in education for PA. Projections contains data that included births, enrollments, attendance and membership, graduates and degrees, professional personnel and expenditures both basic and higher education.
