Scope and Contents

From the Collection: This collection covers the years 1957-2014.  The materials show an ever broadening scope of activity for the university and the  president as the school grows from about 3,500 students in 1966 to peak at a head count of around 8,000 in 2010.  Also included here are gifts bestowed by international schools, documents on curriculum matters and personnel policies, and meetings with department chairs.  There are documents that show how the president interacted with other groups related to the governance of the school, such as the State System of Higher Education, university senate, Edinboro Foundation and Council of Trustees.

Overview

The Commission was a sub-authority of the State System of Higher Education. It was composed of the presidents of the 14 schools. There was a chairman, vice chairman and treasurer all taken from among the 14 presidents. Also there was an executive director who was not a sitting president.
