- Existence: 1893-1968
From his obituary: Don Cornell, son of Harper and Carrie Beam Cornell, was born January 27, 1893 in a wooden buildding on the corner of Meadville and Waterford St. His father had a tailor shop on the first floor and the family had their living quarters in the second strory. The building was later replaced by the present Savings Bank building...[He] hunted since he could carry a gun and carried a vast store of the lore of old Edinboro in his mind.
The day of the great Edinboro fire in 1909 Don spent the day pumping water at Grandpa Goodell's pump back of the house for the bucket brigade. The next day he was taken to the hospital with appendicitis and remained there for weeks.
